Jackie Verseman

Throwing Coach

I am from southeast Missouri and have been a track and field athlete for over 9 years. I picked up throwing shotput and discus as a freshman in high school and quickly fell in love with the sport! I was fortunate to compete at Austin Peay State University for four years while earning my B.S. in Elementary Education. After living in Clarksville, TN for four years, I fell in love with the state and decided to pursue my master's in Nashville, TN. I continued my education at Belmont University while competing in my fifth and finally year of eligibility on Belmont's track and field team. While earning an M.Ed in Teacher Leadership, I received a coaching opportunity at Ensworth with their high school throwers. Throughout my five years of college I also privately trained throwers back home during the summers. While coaching, I was able to truly see so many athletes' passions for throwing come to life, which sparked a bigger passion in my coaching!  Now I am working at Battle Ground Academy as a middle school teacher and upper and middle school throwers' coach! I am truly grateful for this opportunity and hope to see many more athletes find a passion in throwing and grow to their fullest potential!
